Measurement Guidelines
All WickedErgonomy products are made to order to your exact measurements. A well-fitting restraint is both safer and more comfortable, so please take a few minutes to measure carefully before placing your order. Use a soft fabric measuring tape and measure over bare skin or a single layer of thin clothing.
You may submit measurements in millimetres (mm) or inches (in) — please indicate which unit you are using. When in doubt, millimetres give us the most precision.
Wrist Circumference
Wrap the tape around your wrist at the narrowest point — typically just below the wrist bone where a watch band would sit. The tape should lie flat against the skin with no gap and no compression. Note this measurement.
Used for: wrist cuffs, combination sets.
Fist Circumference
Close your hand into a relaxed fist (fingers curled, thumb tucked). Wrap the tape around the widest part of the closed fist — usually across the knuckles. Keep the tape snug but not tight. Note this measurement.
Used for: mittens, bondage mitts, closed-shackle options.
Fist Length
With your hand in a relaxed fist, measure from the base of the hand (the crease where the palm meets the wrist) to the tip of the middle finger. Keep the hand flat and measure along the back of the hand. Note this measurement.
Used for: mittens and bondage mitts to ensure correct sleeve length.
Neck Circumference
Stand upright and look straight ahead. Wrap the tape around the base of the neck, at the level where a collar would sit — roughly at the mid-point of the neck, between the collarbone and the jaw. The tape should sit flat against the skin with room for one finger underneath. Note this measurement.
Used for: collars, collar and cuff combination sets.
Neck Length
Measure along the side of the neck from the top of the shoulder (where neck meets shoulder) upward to just below the jaw. Keep the tape vertical. Note this measurement.
Used for: posture collars and taller collar styles to ensure the collar height suits your anatomy.
Ankle Circumference
Wrap the tape around the ankle at the narrowest point, typically just above the ankle bone. The tape should sit flat with no gap and no compression. Note this measurement.
Used for: ankle cuffs and ankle restraint sets.
Desired Fit
Some products ask for your preferred fit. Unless you specify otherwise, we will size for a snug but comfortable fit — secure enough that the restraint cannot be removed without the release mechanism, but with enough room that the skin is not compressed.
Snug: Lies close against the skin; skin is not compressed; cannot be slipped off.
Comfortable: Slightly looser; a finger fits comfortably underneath; preferred for longer wear.
If you have a specific preference, please describe it in the order notes or the fit field on the product page.
Tips for Accurate Measurements
- Measure twice — if two readings differ, use the larger of the two.
- Measure at the end of the day when your hands and wrists are at their largest.
- If ordering for someone else, have them measure themselves or supervise — fit is personal.
- If you are between sizes or unsure, contact us before placing your order at info@wickedergonomy.com.
